Signals

When you touch
do your fingers tremble
from the anticipation of taking
or the fear of being taken?

When you touch
does your chest pound
to the rhythm of thrusts to come
or a drumbeat calling for escape?

When you touch
does your tongue refuse to budge
from denial of the passion you feel
or its own wordless ecstacy?

And when you touch
does your face burn
with the discovery of another
or the unveiling of yourself?
